At PolinaTech, we believe in protecting and restoring biodiversity by promoting sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems. Through the use of technology, we aim to protect all life on Earth.
Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) is a phenomenon where the majority of bees in a colony disappear unexpectedly without obvious reason. While it is yet unclear as to why this occurs, recent studies have shown the possibility of pesticides or Varroa mites causing the strange event. However, until scientists figure out the true cause of the disorder, bees seem to be in danger of extinction. As of 2021, CCD accounts for about 15-22% of annual colony losses, making it imperative that we take action.
Aligning with UN Sustainable Development Goals 13 and 15, Polinatech creates "PolinaBees" which are innovative robotic bees that can replicate the work of a bee to pollinate and fertilize plants. Due to the impending threat of the extinction of bees caused by CCD, Polinatech provides an alternative precautionary method of fertilization of plants to ensure the longevity of all species of plants and animals.
We hope that through this innovation we will be able to sustain the growth of crops globally and allow farmers and agricultural companies to continue growing and producing crops for the mass consumer.
